The FAIR Foundation Mission and Goals

1) FAIR and equitable distribution of bio-medical research funds by our government for all diseases.
Our goal is to change the current budgeting system to one that takes into consideration the incidence, mortality, suffering, morbidity, communicability and preventability of each disease. Diseases that are presently underfunded will receive increased funding and others that are overfunded will receive fewer allocations. FAIR's recommended research allocation policies.

 2) Eliminating America's organ-donor crisis.

Shockingly, every 52 minutes someone who was on the waiting list dies due to the shortage of organs! 110,000+ patients are waiting for an organ transplant today (a number that increases by 17 daily), and there are an additional 317,000+ patients who are on renal dialysis but are not even listed yet . FAIR believes the waiting list can be drastically reduced (and hopefully eliminated within five years) by the following:

a) Promotion of organ donation,

b) The Implementation of the new organ-donor policies of Presumed Consent and Financial Incentives to living donors and the families of deceased donors,

c) Public health prevention education to reduce the need for donor organs.

3) Providing referral for transplant and pre- and post-transplant educational/emotional support in our FAIR Foundation Liver Disease & Transplant Support Group.
